The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed 6’0”, 215-pound defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon to an entry-level National Hockey League contract, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.
“Marc-Andre turns pro after an outstanding 2008-09 season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he was honored for his play during the regular season and in the playoffs,” said Holmgren. “We believe Marc-Andre has tremendous potential to develop into a solid defenseman at the next level.”
“I am very happy about it. I think I had a good year last year and a good year the year the Flyers drafted me,” said Bourdon. “I was hoping to sign as soon as possible and they signed me right when they could. I signed a good deal and now it is my turn to show them what I can do. I think I have a very good shot and good vision of the play when I have the puck in the offensive zone.”
So with this happening is it time for JONES to go bye bye? Mabye some of us can only hope, at least I know I hope so!
