Salmi won’t return as Sixers broadcaster
Philadelphia Daily News
There will be someone new sitting in the analyst’s chair next to play-by-play voice Marc Zumoff on 76ers’ telecasts next season. That is because Comcast SportsNet confirmed that Bob Salmi will not be back after two seasons on the job.
A statement issued by Maureen Quilter, director of communications, said: “At the conclusion of the Sixers’ 2008-09 season, we evaluated all areas of the Sixers telecast. With this, Comcast SportsNet has decided not to renew the contract of broadcaster Bob Salmi. We thank Bo for his contributions to the network.”
Salmi, who succeeded former Sixer Steve Mix in the position, declined comment.
Salmi, who served as an assistant coach with the Sixers, the New York Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks, has built a strong reputation as “The Coach In The Truck” because of his production skills. -philly.com
While during these times in our economy it’s always hard to see someone loose their job I do not oppose this happening. Sorry Salmi but I did not exactly like the way you called the games. You have to engage the fans with the game too and at the same time be very very passionaite about the Sixers yet be biased. Oh well farewell!
