The Sixers are planning to change uniforms again in 2009-10.
According to a source close to the situation, the Sixers next season will be wearing a variation of the 1982-83 uniforms they sported en route to winning the organization’s last NBA championship.
A blog site dedicated to the Sixers reported earlier this week that team officials told season ticket-holders in a weekend meeting that the Sixers would be switching back to the 1982-83 logo and uniforms, but that apparently isn’t exactly the case.
The 1982-83 home uniforms were white, with red and blue piping, and the word “Sixers” above the number on the front. They are more traditional than the current ones that include a star over the “I” in Sixers and blue and white lines coming out of a basketball beneath the team name.
The Sixers altered their uniforms in 2007 to feature red taping on the side of the shorts and up through the side of the jerseys.
While I like this Idea at the same time I would like to exchange for some players too. Lets get some new faces in here to go with these new uni’s. Lets start at who’s going to be running point. I will discuss this in another thread. Also I don’t have any pictures yet on what the uniform’s will look like but when I do I will be sure to post it.
