Jeremy Maclin

Eagles fans around the country must be happy with this pick. You take a guy that was project to go in the top 10 of the 1st round and we were able to get him with the 19th pick. I feel that this is a major steal. Like I have always said: “The Eagles Love Added Value”. This statement says it all and they are able to get this with Maclin. Here is a guy that has a combination of size and speed that can catch the ball and stretch the field. McNabb should be the happiest QB in the league right now. He now has the luxury of a revamped offensive line and a fast tall receiver that can stretch the field. This is the pick all Eagles fans have been waiting for. Here is what others say about Maclin:

“I think Maclin was the best receiver in the draft. That was a great pick. He is also a punt returner, so you know he is tough and can make people miss. He has great hands and is a very polished route runner. He will run all of the routes and make catches in traffic.”

Pros: Maclin’s greatest assest is his speed and he has F-18 Hornet type afterburners. Runs good routes and is allusive when in the open field. Has a good sense when to come back to the ball on broken plays. Good hands

Cons: He looks a little small to be an NFL wide receiver. May get bumped off his routes by bigger players. Has had some injuries in college but able to bounce back from them.

Overall I feel this is a big pickup. Andy feels that he will be able to contribute in the same manner as Desean. Andy said that Maclin is intelligent and should be able to pick up on the offense immediately. Hopefully this translates into playing time and TD’s for the Eagles. People must see this as a positive that we have another weapon at receiver and in the return game.
