Eagles MLB Stewart Bradley(notes) says he’s close to being 100 percent after missing all of last season with a torn ACL sustained in training camp. His injury forced the Eagles to use six different players to fill his spot on the team, so his return could have a big impact on the defense.
“All I can do is play my best and I think that should be enough to handle my position,” Bradley told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “I’m not thinking that I’m going to come in, the lights are going to come down, and the defense is going to change or something.”
TE Cornelius Ingram(notes) also is recovering from a torn ACL and the two became rehab competitors. Ingram compared Bradley’s competitiveness to that of ex-Florida QB Tim Tebow. Both Bradley and Ingram are full participants in the team’s spring workouts.
“He’s one of those guys that’s passionate and competitive with everything that he does,” Ingram said. “He’s like, ‘Come on, let’s get some extra reps.’ I’m like, ‘Stew, I just told you I’m dead tired.’ And he’ll be like, ‘Come on, let’s do one more set.’ “
