Cole Hamels acted like there was nothing wrong as he made his way about the visiting cluhouse in Colorado Sunday and finally the ace left-hander Philadelphia Phillies confirmed he was fine despite being roughed up in his season-debut Friday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“There is no elbow issue whatsoever,” Hamels said. “There was a few weeks ago, but I’m fine now.”
Both Hamels and manager Charlie Manuel said that the 25-year-old lefthander would make his scheduled start Thursday in Washington, barring any unforeseen setbacks.
The day after allowing seven runs in 3²⁄³ innings in a loss to Colorado, Hamels reported no tightness, inflammation, or other pain. Since receiving an anti-inflammatory injection March 17, his elbow has been fine, Hamels said. -philly.com
