Well the Eagles went out and signed that one huge person they sign every year! So what do they do, what big name do they get, who is this person?!?! Marlin Jackson! OMG RIGHT?! Wait….What….Who?! Well this former 1st rnd pick for the Colts apparently found hes way on the Eagles Roster.
After injuring his knee in 2008 keeping him out pretty much the whole season to rehab and only come back to have the SAME THING happen to the OTHER knee in 2009 which sat him out all year.
Well I guess the Birds feel that he is a low risk HIGH REWARD type of player, which in a way I agree with. But bringing him in raises and Eyebrow for me. Since the Eagles are talking about moving him over to FS does that mean that we feel we have the S / FS position covered… because if were sitting at #24 draft day and Earl Thomas is on the board and we do not draft him…well then I have some serious problems… I’m not sure if this is just another back-up CB that has great potential and what the Eagles are saying is a possible smoke-screen to deter ppl away from thinking were getting a S / FS.
The next month and half will be interesting thats for sure and I’m very excited.
After that today we find out that the Eagles that the Eagles sign a 3 year deal with Chad Hall yeah, I know right… CHAD WHO?! Well here is what Philly.com had on him.
“The Eagles signed wide receiver Chad Hall to a three-year contract, a former Air Force Academy star and currently a second lieutenant in the Air Force, the team announced.
The 5-foot-8, 180-pound Hall worked out at the NovaCare Complex today and was signed soon thereafter. Hall hasn’t played organized football in two years, but he’s a speedy, versatile-type receiver/returner. Think Danny Amendola.”
They later go on saying that Hall said he will mainly be a punt / kickoff returner. But when I looked up more info on this kid he was a Heisman Nominee and he was not a WR he was a Running back. Like a Darren Sproles… Of course its youtube and youtube can make anyone look good but heres a clip on him. FAST… who knows what he could be at the next level, after all remember a kid named Westbrook a couple of years back that came out of no-where. One never knows.
Lastly Eagles has visits with our old boy Hank Basket (since Reggie Brown is gone), and also RB Justin Fargas from Oakland. Fargas is a very very overlooked running back that could fit well in this offense. I still feel that we need a BRUISER… a big boy coming out of the back just ready to tear heads off. More to come on this
