McNabb offically BACK

Well well McNabb is taking part in ALL snaps for the 1st string and looks healthy.  Great to have D-Mac back and I’m very excited for this weekend!

Heres the article from Philly.com

For the first time since the opening week of the season, Donovan McNabb was the Eagles’ first-team quarterback in practice.

There was no official injury report from yesterday’s brief workout, designed as a refresher coming off the bye, but there is every reason to expect that McNabb will be the starter for tomorrow’s first “real” practice and Sunday’s home game against Tampa Bay.

That raises questions about the roles going forward of the other two quarterbacks on the roster, Kevin Kolb and Michael Vick. Both Kolb and Vick acknowledged yesterday that sitting behind an established starter is less than ideal. Vick danced around a question about whether his Wildcat role will be as extensive now that McNabb is back on the scene. Kolb, who made use of McNabb’s absence to become the first quarterback to ever throw for more than 300 yards in both of his first two starts, contemplated going back into the deep freeze.

McNabb, meanwhile, refused reporters’ requests for even the most basic comment, laughing off their attempts to engage him. Later, a brief interview with McNabb surfaced on the Eagles’ Web site, an interview that did not include any discussion of Vick, the Wildcat, or Kolb.

“I feel pretty good,” McNabb revealed. Returning to practice “was very exciting,” he said. “I had an opportunity to move around a little bit, get a good sweat, a good lather, and look forward to progressing throughout the week.”

McNabb said he feels he needs to regain timing and quick recognition of defenses, as he prepares to play for the first time since fracturing a rib in his lower back during the Sept. 13 season opener. Red marks on McNabb’s lower torso seemed to indicate he is still receiving treatment.

Kolb, meanwhile, was asked if it seemed strange to be going back to taking reps with the scout team, after having been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his most recent performance, Sept. 27 against Kansas City.

“I’m not going to say ‘strange,’ but it feels a little bit different,” he said. “I just keep my nose down and keep working hard and whenever the opportunity comes up, then jump back in there and do a good job . . . I’m just going to take it week by week, keep preparing like I always do.”

Kolb said he thought McNabb’s recovery had gone well.

“He’s our guy, and we all know that,” Kolb said. “Again, if I get a chance, I’ll get out there.”

Vick, meanwhile, went into the bye having just played in his first real NFL game since the end of the 2006 season. Eagles coach Andy Reid indicated he wanted Vick to use the bye to take a break from the pressure and scrutiny that has accompanied his return to football after serving a prison sentence for his role in a dogfighting operation.

“I really couldn’t do too much,” Vick said. “I just tried to stay within my comfort zone, I’m settled here in Philly, so I just spent time with the family . . . I was able to just get away, clear my mind. Dropped a couple pounds, getting back down to my fighting weight. I feel good now; my legs are fresh, I’m ready to go.”

Vick said he weighs 212, and that his previous playing weight was 208.

Asked about his role, he said: “I think that’s up to the coaches, what my role is going to be. Whatever it’s going to be, I’m accepting of it, I’m excited about what I’m going to have an opportunity to do for this football team.”

Vick inadvertently made news during the bye week when one of his representatives announced he had signed an endorsement deal with Nike. Nike then denied any deal.

“I’m not here to talk about that. I’m here to strictly talk about football,” Vick said yesterday.

Vick said it was “good to see Donovan back out there; he looks great. Throwing the football, the ball is coming out very sharp, he’s throwing with accuracy, he looks like he hasn’t missed a beat.”

Asked about adjusting to life as a backup, as he regains his skills, Vick said: “I won’t say it’s not hard. I would say that it’s been a challenge, but I also knew that coming in. My job, and what I told myself, was that I was coming in to help this team win, by any means necessary, whatever I can do to help. My time will come in the future. I’m still a young guy. I’ve got the fortitude to do what’s right, and hopefully, I get another opportunity in this league.”
