Eagles OL losses another soon

The Eagles’ revamped offensive line, which has been decimated by injuries at training camp, won’t be together at the start of the season, either.

Left guard Todd Herremans will have surgery to repair a stress fracture of the navicular bone in his left foot today, coach Andy Reid said after last night’s preseason win. Herremans will miss “obviously a couple of games,” Reid said.

“We’ll see how it goes after the surgery with what the doctor says,” Reid said.

The injury initially was diagnosed as a stress reaction and Herremans was fitted with a walking boot. Reid said the doctors could not identify the fracture until the swelling went down.

The status of right tackle Shawn Andrews (back) also is unknown for the Sept. 13 opener against Carolina. Reid said Andrews will likely practice at least a little tomorrow. “We’ll see how he progresses here,” Reid said.
