Ok so I will give the complete rundown here in 1 post. WE OWNED THE METS and SWEPT THEM! – the end.
Kidding, well kidding about the “the end” part. We did indeed sweep those Mets. Although I have a quick tiff, did they think they were cool coming into our city and our park wearing a RED HAT?
Game 1: Rodrigo Lopez stepped on the mound for the first time in over 2 years in a MLB game. Lopez took a three-hitter into the seventh inning, helping the Philadelphia Phillies snap a six-game home losing streak with a 7-2 victory over the New York Mets on Friday night.
“I’m pretty happy, pretty excited,” Lopez said. “Being out for two years, it was a long way to go, a long battle. I didn’t know it would take this long.”
Can’t really complain here pitching went well and Phillies start the series off 1-0 with a 7-2 win.
Game 2: Moyer (7-6) allowed one run and five hits in 6 1-3 innings to win his third straight start. The 46-year-old Moyer tied Carl Hubbell for 42nd on the all-time list with his 253rd career win. While the Phillies trotted off to yet another win against the Rival Mets with a score 4-1 and going up in this three game series 2-0
Game 3: Fans were screaming out for the BROOMS! And sure enough there was a great sale on brooms. While Blanton MAN HANDLED the whole Mets struggling roster and Santana held his own against the Phillies. Rollins cracked a homer to start the game off followed but a Utley homer later in the game. Phillies hold on for the sweep with a 2-0 win.
Great series here lets see what we do against the Reds, that update coming soon!
