Mama said there’d be days like this

Wow what a tough loss lastnight and such a hard pill to swallow.  Our starting pitchers are starting to come around and show some potential.  But our bull-pen needs a swift kick in the rear.  As suspected Blanton came on and gave a SOLID performance.  Going 7 strong innings only giving up 6 hits and a homer from our old pal Mr. Pat the Bat Burrell, which was a 2 run shot.  Other then that he walked 2 batters but striking out 10.  For the longest time in this game I really thought it was going to come down to the wire.  In that 7th inning when we were keeping it close then Werth cracked a homer I thought this is going to come down to the end and were going to pull it out.  I’m sure many of you were thinking that too.  Then “IT” happened……our “magical” bull-pen from last year came onto the field.  J.C. who was so money last year came in the game in the 8th inning to breeze right through it and whoops… not the case he hit a batter then ended up giving up 3 runs.  So Charlie (bobble head) came out and put Chan Ho in.  And Chan Ho did not do much better.  Back to back hits allowed the Rays to bring in 2 more runs.  Such a-shame because if you watched this game it was such a great CLOSE game until the 8th inning.  After that its like we opened the Flood Gates for the Rays to come right in.  Man I keep saying it but we need Lidge back healthy and Madson as the setup man again.  We clearly see Madson is not ready for that closer role yet.  Hes way too young and just not there yet mentally either.

Phills, you let one squeek away we had that game for the taken.  Its hard to watch them right now, I’m not going to lie, but I am totally faithful and loyal that they will turn it around ten-fold!
